achieve an experienced, personal faith.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

Church School:  10:10 - 10:50am
Beginning with a snack period in the Parish Hall, the children move to classrooms by 10:15 a.m.  Classroom lessons blend scripture with applications to a child's daily life. Classes are arranged in the following age groups:

  • Tots (Ages 2-3)

  • Pre-school/Kindergarten

  • Grade 1

  • Grades 2 and 3

  • Grades 4 and 5

  • Middle School

  • High School

The Worship Center:  11:00 - 11:35 a.m.
The goal of the Worship Center is to help children encounter the Creator and to experience religious language, rather than merely repeat it.  Using storytelling, music, and response time using art materials, the curriculum helps children experience the quiet of worship and the freedom to "wonder" about God.  Children join their families at the Offertory.  For more information, contact April Dobbs.

Nursery Care:  8:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
On Sundays, our professionally-staffed nursery provides a safe, friendly environment for infants through 2-year olds.  For more information, contact Janet Sigmon or Debbie Chinitz.

Moms' Group
This fun and fellowship group for Moms with young children meets once a month at church.  Babysitting is usually provided.  They also occasionally have off-site activities.  For more information, contact Sue Dowswell.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Fr. Peter Swarr
Team Leader for Youth Formation

Youth Formation Team Members:
Amy Hepp, Sue Dowswell, Becky Skoug, Gwen ++, and Mary Alice Brunner.

Church School:  10:10-10:50 a.m.
Church School classes for both Middle and High School students are offered. Curriculum is designed around a teen's need for the Bible's message to be "real" in their daily lives.

YOUTH GROUPS
St. John's Middle School and High School youth groups blend friendship, fun, service, and education. These groups also travel to concerts, plays, retreats, and off-site fun.  Details of St. John's Youth Group activities can be found in the weekly announcements, On Eagles' Wings newsletter, and on the St. John's Youth Groups page of this web site.

Confirmation Class
Young people who will be 16 years old by April 1 may consider taking their Baptismal Vows for themselves in the rite of Confirmation.
