Julie has been the Minister of Music at St. John's since July 2009.  Prior to arriving at St. John's, Julie served at Episcopal, Presbyterian, and ELCA. Lutheran churches in Michigan and Indiana.

Julie received her Bachelor of Music degree in organ performance from Western Michigan University in 1999, and in 2001 she completed a Master of Music in church music at the University of Michigan.  In that same summer she also passed the certification exam for the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America.  Julie has held leadership positions within the American Guild of Organists and the Leadership Program for Musicians, and was an advisor for a special worship colloquium at Rochester College.  She has conducted workshops for the American Guild of Organists and the Southeast Michigan Synod of the ELCA., and has performed organ and carillon recitals in several states.  She also maintains a small studio of private piano and organ students. 

 Julie enjoys learning music and alongside her studies on piano, organ, and carillon; she also plays flute, guitar, tuba and sings.  In her free time she enjoys cooking, crafts, and gardening.  Julie lives in Auburn Hills with her husband Chris, a direct-care giver and church media director, their son Anthony, and a plethora of animals.
