The Reverend Susie Shaefer ...

The Rev. Susie Shaefer is a Michigan native, born and raised down the road in Ann Arbor, where she currently lives with her husband Luke and daughter Bridget. Growing up at St. Clare’s Episcopal Church, she was involved in choir and church school, and in diocesan youth activities including Gordonwood camp staff, Youth Steering Committee and Happenings. A couple years after graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Social Science, she attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in the Chicago area. Ordained to the priesthood in 2005, Susie served as associate rector at St. Paul’s, Lansing, working primarily with children and youth ministries, and then became the Interim Youth & Young Adults Missioner for our diocese. When she isn’t thinking about youth Bible studies or VBS crafts, Susie enjoys singing with the UM Choral Union, watching UM football, cooking, and generally adoring her baby daughter Bridget, born in June 2009.
