As Summer 2008 approaches, and the ever anticipated school break looms,  St. John’s Youth Groups will still have a June full of activities and meetings.

For our First Wednesday activity, Wednesday, June 4, 2008, St. John's Youth Groups are going Cosmic Bowling at the Plymouth Plaza Lanes located at 42001 Ann Arbor Road in Plymouth. Both Middle School and High School groups will meet at 6:00 p.m. for bowling and dinner and will be back at the Church for pick-up at 9:00 p.m. The cost of this event is $15 and includes dinner, a pair of rental shoes, and two games. Our last regular meeting will occur on Wednesday June 11, 2008. The Regular meeting schedule is: Middle School Group (which has named itself St. Jygms [pronounced jig-mus]) meets from 6:00-7:15 p.m., dinner with both groups occurs from 7:15-7:45p.m., and the High School Group meets from 7:45-9:00p.m.

However, Youth Group programs WON’T STOP ON JUNE 11, 2008. This year,  St. John's Youth Groups will meet throughout the summer!!! Both the Middle School Group (St. Jygms) and the High School Group have decided, along with Fr. Peter and Paul Buckley, that we will hold meetings and lock-ins throughout the summer. The summer schedule is as follows:

Sunday, June 22, 2008: we will have a combined Middle School Group and High School Group meeting from 4:00-9:00 p.m. at the youth house. The meeting will include a bar-b-que, outdoor games, music, and an all around great time!

Friday-Saturday, June 27-28, 2008: we will have a Middle School (St. Jygms) "Lock-In" at the Youth House! The Lock-In will begin at Friday, June 27, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. and end at noon on Saturday, June 28, 2008.  Further information will be posted on the St. John’s web site and distributed via the announcement pages and the youth group e-mail system (email Fr. Peter if you wish to be added to this email list).

Wednesday, July 2, 2008 we will have separate Middle School Group (6:00-7:15 p.m.) and High School Group (7:45-9:00 p.m.) meetings with dinner running from 7:15-7:45 p.m.

Friday-Saturday, July 11-12, 2008 we will have a High School Group "Lock-In." The lock-in will begin Friday, July 11, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. and end 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008. Further details will be posted on the St. John’s web site  and distributed via the announcement pages and the youth group email system (email Fr. Peter if you wish to be added to this email list).

Sunday, July 27, 2008 we will have a combined youth groups meeting following the 10:00 a.m. church service.

Monday-Thursday, July 28-31, 2008 Middle School and High School youth are invited, and encouraged to participate in, and help lead Vacation Bible School. Contact Laura Good for more information.

August 2008 There will also be at least two St. John's Youth Group meetings in August.
