On Common Ground—World Religions in America
For the five Sundays in Lent, we
will do some background work on a number of world
religions. The Sunday presentation will be
followed by a speaker from that tradition on the
ensuing Wednesday. This Sunday, March
7, our focus is Judaism, with a guest speaker on
Wednesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m.
We will have a simple soup and salad supper every
Wednesday night at 6:15 during Lent.
The remaining dates are 3/10, 3/17 and 3/24.
Needed are salad & dressings and two soups (one
vegetarian) You can either contact Dick Bass
directly and let him know what you will provide
and the date, or you can sign up on the
Sign-Me-Up! board. Dick Bass: 248-477-8481
or
dbass43@att.net Thanks for you help!

parishioners, visiting guests and old friends, and
recruit new members! All the while helping keep

St.
John’s League Lunch on
Wednesday
March 10 th at noon in the
Library. This is a multigenerational group of
women who meet during the day and recognize the
value of small groups gathering to care for each
other. Please join in the fellowship—bring a
sandwich to share, dessert and side dishes will be
provided. Our Mission Outreach continues to
include collecting items monthly for
First Step and
St. John’s
Food Pantry
. Keep in mind that during
the winter months if the Plymouth Canton Schools
are closed for a snow day the church and any
activities will be too. All women are welcome! If
you have any questions please contact Carol
Kapusky, Coordinator at (248) 349-4666 or
ckapusky@gmail.com
The Salvation Army reports that they
are desperately low on certain hygiene supplies:
toilet paper, dishwashing soap, laundry soap and
men's and women's deodorant. These items cannot be
purchased with food stamps, so their needy clients
are hoping you can drop off some of these things
at the Salvation Army. Thanks!
The C.R.E.W
(Conversation and Reflection for Episcopal Women)
will have its next meeting on Friday, March 12 at
10:00 AM in the youth house.
Women of all ages (and their
friends!) are welcome. Questions?—contact Amy Hepp

Teen Dating Abuse
Sponsored by:
The Delta Kappa Society International

Schools
Educators Who CARE
The prevalence of
teen dating abuse is staggering. In the past few
years the incidence of abuse in teen relationships
has increased from one in five to one in three. It
is a pattern of abusive behaviors that are used to
gain power and control over a dating
partner. These behaviors are repeated, creating a
pattern of violence. The Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention states that one in eleven
teens report being a victim of physical dating
violence. This presentation is open to all adults
who wish to learn more about this growing problem
and how to recognize warning signs.
Guest Speaker: Cheryl Cyran,
Mu Chapter
(Recognized expert in the area of teen dating
abuse.)
When: Thursday, March 25, 2010
Time: 7:00p.m. – 8:00p.m.
Location: Livonia Civic Center Library
Located at 32777 Five Mile (just east of
Farmington Rd.)
Cost: FREE (Light refreshments will be served)
